Two of a Kind

Evelyn's and Julia's Girl Scout uniforms are unique, yet also two of a kind since they are in the same council - Eastern Massachusetts.

Hobby

Sewing is definitely a hobby of mine.  I usually sew costumes and pajamas for the girls (and their dolls).  I'm about to embark on a project for Evelyn's 1930's-themed birthday party:  sewing a dress from a vintage pattern.

Where I'd Rather Be

My favorite vacations have been at both the beach and the mountains, so today's prompt was a tough one for me.  But ultimately I chose this secluded beach picture from St. John, USVI.

A Taste of Spring

Julia helped Troy prune the dead parts of a bush that got crushed from this past winter's snow.  She loved using her Great-Grandpa's cutters to chop away at the bush.

Not Mine

Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary is not mine, but Julia and I love hiking along the boardwalk there.

The only time I am a short-order cook is in the morning.  Today's pancake order was banana walnut, chocolate chip and plain.  Yum-o!

Today's Weather

Sunny and 52 degrees.  The girls took advantage of the warmer weather to put some peanut butter bird food pellets in the cracks of the tree trunk.  (Notice their boots - with all the snow melting, it's pretty squishy and muddy in the backyard.)

Look closely and you can see the goldfinch's summer color under its beak.  Even that little bit of summer color has gotten our hopes up about Spring being just around the corner.

We have had a bitterly cold and snowy winter.  We finally had a sunny, warm (aka 56 degrees) day, and the girls couldn't wait to get outside to ride their bike and scooter.

This morning, Julia had a 10:00 appointment with her Daisy (Girl Scout) troop to make chocolate.  Looks like she made out well!

Time to organize my recipe binder.  I haven't done that since we lived in Dallas, so I had a LOT of work to do!
